Ghostrider Notebook

RW/Centre Nolan Lagace broke a 6 game scoring slump in Nelson and picked a perfect time to do it... in the first minute of the third period with the teams  tied 2-2. The Riders Brandon Youngson stopped 10 shots in the third to preserve the lead and get the win .

Dan Burgess is back with the injury plagued Riders, Coach Mohr says Danny will be in the lineup Thursday against Golden.

If you were wondering if 18 year old Brandon Youngson who is in his first full year with the Riders was ready for full time action in net... your questions were answered Saturday in Nelson.

HC Craig Mohr says he played Nolan Lagace "a ton" in the Nelson game and he played great plus scored the GW and was also named as the Tim Horton’s Player of the Week.

Ryan Kennedy, Alex Cheveldave, Kevin Pierce and Ty Carron with the game winner all scored power play goals against the Rockies.

Brandon Butler got the win Friday and now has an 8-6-0-2 record.

Riley Siebel and Ty Abbott each scored their second goals the season in the close 3-2 Nelson game.

Joey Stensland is the McDonald’s Practice Player of the Week.

Captain Alex Cheveldave has at least a point in 9 of his last 10 games and leads
the defence in scoring.

Ryan Kennedy with 11 goals and 17 points has already surpassed his point totals from his rookie season last year when he finished with 8 goals and 6 assists.

The Ghostriders are 7-3 in their last 10 games and are at #8 overall in special teams with a 20.20% power play and an 80.43% penalty kill.

Tayler Sincennes, Keagan Kingwell, Trevor Broad and Kyle Haugo all missed last weekend with injuries but a couple of them are possible for this weekend.

Justin Peers also missed last weekend, but it was because of a 2 game suspension for a hit from behind in the Beaver Valley game. Everyone tells me it was a bad hit, so the 2 games was legit. Anyway, he is eligible to play now.

The Next Games
The Golden Rockets are in town Thursday. This will be the third game between these two teams. On September 30th the Riders won 2-0 in Golden and on October 14th here in Fernie the Riders won 7-0.

In the 7-0 game Ethan Bock hit one of the Riders from behind igniting a line brawl that saw several
players and both coaches receive suspensions.

The Rockets lost both their home games last weekend, 3-2 to Castlegar and 7-1 to Creston.

On Saturday
The Ghostriders play the Columbia Valley Rockies. The Rockies sit in fourth place in the standings but would like to take third place from the Riders. Both teams have won 2 games against each other.

The Rockies lost both of their games last week, 5-2 here in Fernie and 7-2 at home against
Castlegar.
Colby Sherlock and Ryan Skytt are their top scorers and Connor McKay is their #1 goalie and Wade Dubielewicz is their Head Coach and GM.
